Van Gogh Starry Night Bento Bag

Here's one of my new bento bags from my Etsy shop, Beneficial Bento. It's made from some bright and beautiful fabric reminiscent of the painting, The Starry Night, by Vincent Van Gogh.

This lunch contains a gluten free pasta salad made of chicken, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, italian dressing, and my very favorite gluten free pasta from Target. On the side there are grapes, strawberries, cucumbers, and a little salad made from edamame, carrots, and sesame ginger dressing.

Here's basically the same lunch, made for my husband ( but he got peaches instead of grapes) - packed in my Fit & Fresh Lunch Pak Carrier, which I reviewed in this post.

I am big on packing my lunch and snacks to take with me when I need to leave the house. When my food decisions are already made for the day, then I'm not as tempted to eat things I shouldn't be eating. I use my cooler purse every day, and I often keep a water bottle and a little snack with me so I'll stay on track with my food goals.
But I found that when I was eating anywhere other than my kitchen, I needed to have something to keep crumbs or spills off my lap. I also wished I had something to wipe my hands - especially when driving, sitting at my desk, or sewing.
That's why I created these bento bags! They act as a bag to carry your food ( and keep it away from other things in your bag or purse), and they lay flat on your lap or table to act as a placemat. Then when you're done eating you can wipe your hands with it, turn it inside out ( so the stains are on the inside) and throw it in the wash with the other laundry. I can see these even being used as a bib for a baby, even though I haven't tried that idea yet...
Here's a post where I describe how my bento bag saved our car from an exploding ranch dressing spill:  Chicken Salad and Cantaloupe Bento.
And here's a link to my etsy shop where you can buy this: Van Gogh Starry Night Bento Bag.
