Patriotic Fruit Cups - Easy Red, White & Blue Fruit Cups

If you need to bring a last minute patriotic dish to one of your summer celebrations this year, my red, white, and blue fruit salad is an easy side dish to get you into the holiday spirit.

Ingredients

  • red fruit, like strawberries, raspberries, cherries, watermelon
  • white fruit like canary melon, pears (peeled), apples(peeled), white peach (peeled)
  • blue fruit like blueberries, blackberries, black grapes

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut up your favorite red, white, and blue fruit.
  2. In clear cups, arrange the fruit in layers.
  3. If you're making these in advance, put the white layer in top to prevent the other colors from bleeding into the white fruit.
  4. Add tight fitting lids, and refrigerate until serving time.

Notes

Note: to prevent white fruit from browning, toss with a little citrus juice. Lemon juice, lime juice, or orange juice will all work. Depends on what flavor combo you like.
