Creamy, ripe avocado, tangy lime, and cool sour cream combine with salsa to make the easiest, no-fuss guacamole that everyone loves. It’s got all the elements you need to be restaurant quality even though it could not be easier.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fresh avocado, which is about 2 large avocados
  • 1/3 cup prepared salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, such as Louisiana style
  • 1/2 teaspoon citric acid, of fruit preservative powder (like Fruit Fresh)

Instructions

  1. Add peeled avocado to a bowl, with salsa and spices.
  2. Mash with a potato masher or a big fork.
  3. Add lime juice, citric acid, and sour cream. Mash and stir until creamy.
  4. Add hot sauce, adjust seasonings to taste.
  5. Store in an airtight container and keep chilled until serving time

Notes: the combination of lime juice and citric acid (or Fruit Fresh) will let this guacamole keep its green color for longer, especially if it’s kept in an airtight container.
